Why ArtPop is Worth Supporting. (3.1.18)

ArtPop is a game changer - and opportunity unlike any other - for local artists! (Not just Charlotte, NC... ArtPop is in 9 states and 14 cities - and growing:)

I'm asking you to consider investing in ArtPop - whether directly or by purchasing some of my glass at March 10 Le Meridien (Charlotte, NC) event. (10% of my sales go to support current matching ArtPop campaign.)

In 2014, I was one of the first ArtPop artists. I'd been learning kiln glass and working toward goal of scaling my glass for public art. My ArtPop billboard was first time my art was huge - at 14'x48'.

Adams Outdoor Advertising is huge ArtPop supporter. (ArtPop founder, Wendy Hickey, was an Adams gal for years. Adams generously supports ArtPop with THOUSANDS of dollars of free to artists billboard space!! Each artist gets billboard for an entire year!)

Originally (first 4 years), the Arts & Science Council was a core ArtPop supporter. The Knight Foundation, Charlotte organization is another big supporter. (Reemprise Fund is another investor - and the sponsor of the matching $40,000!!)

I don't ask people to invest in or support anything I am not, myself, a BIG fan. In addition to being a 2014 ArtPopCLT artist, I served on their board in 2015. I've directly benefitted from ArtPop in so many ways... and, have shared ArtPop and encouraged many artists to apply from the beginning.

Why is ArtPop different? It is completely about the artist and their art. Every OOH format (Out of home is advertising term for venues out in public, like billboards, digital displays, magazine racks, bus ads, etc.) has the artist's NAME with their image. (This is something that doesn't always happen with artists. Often their art is used with no citing of the artist's name!)

ArtPop only charges a minimal application fee to cover the cost of the application platform. They host events - like kick off celebrations - where the artists are the stars. ArtPop does LOTS of free PR & marketing for artists. You can be emerging, established or professional artist.

Here's the update on #ArtPop40for40 ....they are halfway to their $40,000 goal! This is SO doable! (Divide that amount by the number of social media followers ArtPop has and that’s less than $12/follower!)

When ArtPop raises $40,000 by April 2018, a generous investor has put up an additional, MATCHING, $40,000. That's right, every dollar invested is doubled.
